Bible 101

Pastor Travis Perry is teaching a Bible 101 class on the Holy Scriptures. The study will answer some of the basic questions about the Bible such as: Who wrote it and why is organized the way it is? Can we prove it is more than just a collection of myths and inaccuracies? Can we rely upon it to provide the ultimate rule of faith and practice for the true church? And other question that will come up in the class.

We will look at some different means of interpreting the Bible like understanding the difference between Eastern and Western way of thinking. We cannot divorce ourselves from who we are and how we think, but we need to understand the presuppositions of the Eastern mindset in our reading and interpretation of scripture. We’ll learn the Five "C’s" of Bible Interpretation. We will look at how history and archaeology have combined to confirm the accuracy of Scripture.
